Top Real Estate Agent Frustrations - Answered!

Thank you for taking the time to visit our website.  We recently polled some real estate professionals in the greater Phoenix area and asked them what their top frustrations in today’s marketplace were.  Once we compiled the most common frustrations, we took those topics to our TOP associates and asked them how THEY overcome those challenges.  Below you will find a summary of the questions and the responses.

1. My biggest frustration is finding buyers that have realistic expectations.  It seems that most clients want that gorgeous home in a great location at a fire sale price.

It all starts with the buyer counseling.  Get qualification from the bank and know what their money situation is and then you show them what is real, not the hype (media).  You also need to be up-to-date on current market conditions and do your homework.  Find the FACTS.  The information you provide to them up front, will save a lot of time over the duration of the sale.

2. Most buyers are making ridiculous offers that I know won't work, and I tell them so, but they make it any ways.  8 out of 10 offers won't work.  For those 8 offers, they are from the same buyers; they have cash, and won't come close to reality.

It comes down to teaching and convincing buyers on the current market conditions.  If you continue to have the same problems with this buyer who is paying cash and is not being realistic, you must MOVE ON because they are not likely to change their position.  Don't waste your time with buyers who won't buy.  Focus your efforts on finding qualified buyers and motivated sellers.

I am constantly looking for alternative sources of business, especially through internet leads.  But it is very difficult to get the web presence to generate the leads because the marketplace is so competitive.

When competing against internet juggernauts like REALTOR.com and REMAX.com, it will be a challenge to generate your own traffic.  However, by using the power of a big brand, you can help ease the public perception of you and your business.  People trust companies they know.  This can be proven by the number of leads that RE/MAX Excalibur receives on a monthly basis.  On average, our office generates nearly 380 evenly distributed leads PER MONTH for our associates.  REMAX.com generates 175,000 leads per month for the entire RE/MAX network.  So by just using a notable brand in your marketing on your website, you will be sure to receive more interest from new visitors, because they already know who you are.
